Obituary - Mercer County Chronicle
Mrs.
Caroline Schwieterman, a well known and estimable lady, died at her
home
one mile south of Sebastian last Saturday morning.
Tuberculosis of the lungs was the cause of death, and she had been ill
of the dreaded disease for about
a year and eight months, being
confined to her bed for seven months prior to her death. She died well
fortified with the last sacraments of the Catholic
Church.
Caroline will was born at Sebastian December 17, 1873, and had
attained the age of 51 years, 5 months and 24 days, and was a daughter
of Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Will, of Sebastian.
She had resided
near Sebastian all her life. She was an exemplary woman, a true and
devoted wife and mother, a
consistent member of the Catholic
Church, a member of the Ladies Sodality and Mothers Society of St.
Sebastian parish, an excellent neighbor, and was
greatly respected
by a large circle of friends.
Her death is mourned by all who
knew her.
On March 27, 1894, she was united in marriage to
Charles Schwieterman, who died one year and 10 months ago.
Surviving are four sons and five daughters, namely, Charles, Paulina,
Elizabeth, Alma and Raymond, at
home; Julius and Sebastian, of
Celina; Mrs. John Huwer, of Cranberry Prairie,
and Mrs. William
Forsthoefel, of Coldwater. Three brothers and three sisters
survive, namely, Mrs. Anna Menker, of Maria Stein; Mrs. Mary
Beckstedt, of
Celina; Mrs. John Rose, of Sebastian; John Will and
Henry Will, of Sebastian,
and Theodore Will, of Guadalupe. There
are eight grandchildren living.
Funeral services were held at
the St. Sebastian church Wednesday morning, Rev. Michael
Hinssen
officiating. Burial was at the St. Sebastian Catholic cemetery.
