EDA C. SCHAADT

Eda C. Schaadt, 83, rural Berne, died at 3:45 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 18 in the Brethren Health Care Center, Flora, Ind., form complications due to a stroke. She had been ill for two weeks.

She was born March 19, 1910, in Mercer County, to Henry and Margaret (Dietsch) Linn. She married Herbert Schaadt on May 2, 1936 in Celina, Ohio. He preceded her in death in February, 1992.

A homemaker, she was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Chattanooga, Ohio. She was a member of the Farm Bureau Co-op, active in the Berne and Chattanooga senior citizens group, and helped with the farmer’s picnic and strawberry festival.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Dewey (Sharon) Cowen, Galveston, Ind., and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers, Carl, Edward, Andrew, James. Paul, William, and Urban, and three sisters, Hilda Bollenbacher, Lyn Ellen, and Sara J. Cowen.

Services at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 22 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Chattanooga, Ohio. Calling from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m., Sunday, at the Yager-Kirchhofer Funeral Home, and one hour prior to services at the church, Monday.

Burial will be in the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery. The Rev. A. Eugene Keil will officiate.
