Bluffton, Ind., -- Esther D. Wasson, 83, of Bluffton, Ind., formerly of Willshire, died at 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Meadowvale Nursing Home, Bluffton.   

   She was born February 26, 1893, in Adams County, Indiana, a daughter of Lewis and Rosella (Troutner) August.    She married Hobart Strickler, who died December 2, 1927. On October 13, 1961, she was married to Leon (sic) Wasson.

   Survivors include a son, Richard Strickler of Willshire; 3 sisters, Mrs. John (Goldie) Griebel and Mrs. Rheba Vetter, both of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Gerald (Sylvia) Riesen of Columbus; a brother, Donald   August of Fort Wayne; 3 grandchildren, 2 step-granddaughters, 3 great grandchildren and 4 step-greatgrandsons.  

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Zwick (sic) Funeral Home in Decatur, with the Rev. Bruce Kenline officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

MRS. LEO WASSON DIES; ILL 6 YEARS

   A resident of 119 East Townley St., Mrs. Leo (Esther) Wasson, 83, died at 6:30 a.m. today at Meadowvale Care Center, where she had been a patient five years following an illness of six years.
Born Feb. 22, 1893 in Adams County, she was a daughter of Lewis and Rosella Troutner August. A first marriage was to Hobart Strickler, who died Dec. 2, 1927. Her marriage to Leo Wasson, retired Craigville postmaster, took place Oct. 13, 1961.

   In addition to the husband, she is survived by a son, Richard Strickler of Willshire, O.; three sisters, Mrs. John (Goldie) Griebel and Mrs. Rheba Vetter, both of Fort Wayne, and Mrs. Gerald (Sylvia) Reisen of Columbus, O.; a brother, Donald August of Fort Wayne, three grandchildren, two step-granddaughters, three great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandsons.

   Calling will be after 2 p.m. Friday at the Zwick Funeral Home in Decatur, where services at 1 p.m. Saturday will be in charge of Rev. Bruce Kenline of Tocsin. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Rockford, O.
