Vera Stein, 7009 Ohio 49. Celina died Tuesday, Sept. 21 at Parkview Hospital, Fort Wayne, Ind. of cancer.

She was born in Mercer County Feb. 14, 1919, to Tom and Ethel (Secrest) Bachar; her mother survives in Rockford.

Also surviving are her husband, Jerome L. Stein whom she married on May 18, 1942; a son, John, Celina; three daughters, Mrs. Dale (Judy) Sprunger, Van Wert; Mrs. Steven (Nina) Spencer, Celina; and Mrs. Francis (Mary Jane) Benson, Columbus; nine grandchildren; a brother, Tom Bachar, Ponka City, Okla; and her parents-in-law, Mr.
and Mrs. Ernest Stein, Mendon.

Mrs. Stein was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Celina.

Funeral services were conducted Friday at the church. Burial was in Mercer Memory Gardens.

Stein Rites Held

Funeral services for Vera Stein, formally of 7009 Ohio 49, Celina, who died Tuesday, were held at the St. John Lutheran Church, Celina at 2 p.m. Friday. The Rev. Eugene Langholz officiated, with Kathy Snider presiding at the organ.

Pallbearers to Mercer Memory Gardens were Clarence Minch, Kenneth Minch, Willis Martin, Marvin Stolz, Robert Chaney and Glenn Buxton.
