Bernard R. "Ben" Reichert, age 69, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, passed away on January 6, 2019 at Richardson, Texas. He was born June 10, 1949, in Celina, OH, to the late John and Julitta (Weitzel) Reichert.
Surviving are his children, Stephen Reichert of Como, TX, Dustin (Leeanne) Reichert of Atoka, OK, April (Mark) Bovee of Rockwall, TX, and Amanda (Thomas) Riley of Royce City, TX; step daughter, Theresa (Ronnie) Fikes of Sulphur Springs, TX; 8 grandchildren; siblings, Marlene (David) Meddings of Dayton, OH, Clara (Tom) Linn of Wapakoneta, OH, Barbara (Glen) Nicodemous of Portland, IN, and Laura Olding of Lewisburg, OH.
Ben was a US Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and was
owner/operator of Shoe Sting Trucking, Fort Recovery. He comically
referred to his truck as the "chicken truck".
He was a member of
the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, Fort Recovery and St. Paul
Catholic Church, Sharpsburg, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Monday, January 14, 2019 at St. Paul Catholic Church, with Fr. Ned Brown as celebrant.
Calling is 8:30 am-9:45 am Monday at Brockman - Boeckman Funeral
Home, Fort Recovery, Ohio. Military honors will be conducted by the
American Legion, Fort Recovery at the church following mass.
Contributions can be made to the Truckers Final Mile Association.
