Intersection Collision Fatal For John Kuhn
Ralph (Johnny) Kuhn, 51, resident of R. 1,
Rockford, (Tama Road) died Thursday, in route from the scene of an
auto collision to the Otis Hospital in Vale and Stein's ambulance.
According to a report of the Deputy Sheriff
Norval Weitz, Kuhn, who was headed north on Wabash Road, ran a stop
sign at the intersection of Frahm Pike into the path of the west bound
car driven by Richard Paul, 28, Berne, Ind.
The body was taken to Rockford and Ketchams
Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements. Relatives and friends may
call there after 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Deputy Weitz’ report says that the collision
which occurred nine miles northwest of Celina, resulted in one car
being completely demolished and the front end of the second car being
a total loss.
Paul is a patient in the Otis Hospital, where
he is being treated for moderate cerebral concussion, severe contusion
of head, minor lacerations to both upper eyelids and minor abrasions
of the face.
Kuhn, pronounced dead on arrival at the
hospital by Dr. Donald Fox, had received a broken neck.
The deputy’s report states that Paul was
traveling at the rate of 50 MPH, and was going home from his work at
the Celina Manufacturing Company. He is the son of Mrs. Elizabeth
Paul, of 313 East! Wayne St., Celina
The deceased was the son of the late Adam and
Hettie Grove Kuhn and was born in Mercer County, April 14, 1909. He
was a lifelong resident of the area just south of Chattanooga.
He attended Chattanooga Methodist Church, was
an employee of the Hawthorne Melody Milk Co., in Berne, Ind., he was a
member of the F.O.E. in Rockford and the Loyal Order of Moose, Celina.
Surviving are four brothers, Herbert and Lloyd
Kuhn of Rockford; Roscoe Kuhn of Berne Ind., and Wilbur Kuhn of Bryant
Ind., and a sister, Mrs. Bernice Bruner of Berne.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in
Chattanooga Methodist Church and burial will follow in Kessler
Cemetery, Liberty Township.
