Mrs. Elizabeth Heffner, 98, Chattanooga, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Esther Whitney, in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she had resided for the past 15 years.

 

Born Nov. 21, 1870 in Van Wert County, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Catherine Rohr Wendel.   Her husband, William Heffner, died in 1920.

 

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Esther Whitney, Grand Rapids; and Mrs. Marie Eichler, Van Wert; two sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Johnson and Mrs. Bertha Renwick, both of Grand Rapids; four grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Heffner was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chattanooga.

 

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, with the Rev. Ralph Hershberger officiating. Burial will be in Chattanooga Zion Lutheran Cemetery.

 

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
