He was born Aug. 18, 1910, in Chattanooga, the
son of Perry and Caroline (Huffman) Gibbons.
He married Clara Schaadt Sept. 13, 1928, and
she survives with five children, Tom, Celina; Denny, Rockford; Mrs.
Raymond (Lila Lee) Roe, Monroe, Ind.; Darlene, at home; and Mrs. Ned
(Monica) Pryor, Greenville; 11 grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Felver, Gas City,
Ind.; Mrs. Ella Regedanz, Rockford; and Mrs. Vivian Becher, Rockford.
He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
Mr. Gibbons had been employed as caretaker at
Rustic Haven Campgrounds on Grand Lake St. Marys.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m.
Tuesday in Ketcham-Ripley Funeral Home, Rockford, the Rev. Edwin
Eberhart officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul's United Church of
Christ Cemetery, southwest of Rockford.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:30
p.m. today.
Buried in St. Pauls Church of Christ Cemetery.

Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. today in the Ketcham-Ripley
Funeral Home, Rockford, O., for Luther (Fat) Gibbons, 63, of route 1,
Rockford, father of Mrs. Raymond (Lila) Roe, of Monroe.
Gibbons
died at 9:05 a.m. Saturday in Van Wert county hospital following an
apparent heart attack.
He was born Aug. 18, 1910, in

Survivors include his widow, Clara (Schaadt) Gibbons, whom he married
Sept. 13, 1928; two sons, Tom of Celina and Denny of Rockford; three
daughters, Mrs. Roe, Darlene, at home, and Mrs. Ned (Monica) Prior of
Greenville; three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Felver of Gas City, Ind., Mrs.
Ella Regedanz and Mrs. Vivian Decker, both of Rockford; 11
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Two sisters and four
brothers preceded him in death.
He had been the caretaker at
Rustic Haven campground on Lake St. Mary’s for many years.
Burial was in St. Paul’s United Church of Christ Cemetery.
