Gehm  Rites Set Saturday

 

Miss Mathilda Gehm, 65, R. 3, Celina, died at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at her home, after an illness of several months.

 

She had been employed as bookkeeper for the Celina Moving and Storage Co., until illness forced her retirement last June.

 

Miss Gehm was born August 23, 1898 in Liberty Township and her parents are Mrs. Mary Alt Gehm of R. 3, Celina and the late Jacob Gehm. Two sisters are also deceased.

 

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Liberty Township, the Celina Mail Bag Club, of which she was a former secretary, and the Women's Guild of the church.

 

Friends may call in W. H. Dick and Sons Funeral Home after 7 p.m. Thursday until 12 noon Saturday, when the body will be taken to the United Church of Christ, to lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the rites.

 

Besides her mother, Miss Gehm is survived by three brothers, William Gehm, R. 3, Rockford, Carl Gehm, R. 3, Celina; and Roma Gehm, R. 1, Rockford; three sisters, Mrs. Pearl Bollcnbacher, R. 3, Rockford; Mrs. Sam (Tuska) Fishbaugh, St. Marys; and Mrs. Victor (Beulah) Pierstorff, R. 1, Rockford. There are also a number o£ nieces and nephews.

 

The rites will be conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Larry May.

 

Buried in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery
