Daniel P Crouch

Daniel P Crouch, 60, of Mendon, passed away Sunday, September 15,2013, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.

He was born November 29, 1952 in Celina to Paul and Mildred (Thees) Crouch. His Father is deceased and his Mother survives in Celina. On May 3,1980, he married Teresa (Severns) Crouch, who survives along with their two children, Deanna (Zach) Arnett and Josh (Amanda) Crouch, both of Mendon; five grandchildren: Austin, Gage, Drayden, Miley and Devin; two brothers and a sister: Larry (Becky) Crouch, Dave Crouch and Linda (Bob) White, all of Celina; his mother-in-law: Doris Severns;  His father-in-law, Joe Severns, preceded him in death.

Dan was a 1971 Graduate of Celina High School and a graduate of ITT Tech in Dayton. For 30 years he was a Tool (i Die Operator at Thees Machine & Tool in Celina. He was a member of the Mendon United Methodist Church, M.U.R A. (Mendon-Union Recreation Association), the Mendon Lions Club and the Lions Festival Committee. Dan was an advocate for the Village of Mendon, and enjoyed helping people and local organizations and riding his golf cart around Mendon.

A sports enthusiast, Dan's favorite teams were the Cincinnati Reds and the Bengals. He had also been an announcer for Parkway sports teams and coached his and brothers and sisters-in-law: Jeff (Brenda) Severns, Randy (Pam) Severns and Chris (Randy) Flores, all of Mendon; and many nieces and nephews, youth softball and baseball in Mendon.

Dan enjoyed the 'oldies' and country music. A musician, he had been a member of the local band Art esia, which played throughout the area in the late 70's through 1991.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 19, at Mendon United Methodist Church, with Reverend Don Clinger officiating. Burial will follow at Mendon Cemetery.

Calling hours are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 18 and 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
