Troy L. Flenar, age 68, of Fort Recovery, OH and formerly of
Rochester, IN, died September 6, 2019 at his residence.
He was
born December 27, 1950 in Warsaw, IN, to Larry Flenar and Carol
(Peterson) Flenar. His father, Larry Flenar is deceased and his
mother, Carol Flenar survives in Leesburg, IN. On December 28, 1970,
he married Sarah (Brown) Flenar, who survives in Fort Recovery.
Also surviving are his children, Alison (Ted) Homan of Fort
Recovery, OH, Troy A. Flenar of St. Henry, OH, and Renee (Cary)
Gleason of Scottsdale, AZ; siblings, Larry (Marilyn) Flenar of Federal
Heights, CO, Rick Flenar of Rossville, GA, Pam (Japo) Jack of
Leesburg, IN, Seth Flenar of Bourbon, IN and Donna (Randy) Miller of
Rochester, IN; and the people he loved the most, his grandkids,
Andrew, Natalie, Rita, Audrey, Paul, Jesse, Eddie, Emily, Taylor,
Rachel, Layla, Jack and Shane; and his deceased grandson, Luke Homan.
Troy will be missed by many, especially his loyal canine companion,
Marley. Marley rarely left his side during his two year battle with
cancer.
He was a 1968 graduate of Mentone High School, Mentone,
IN. After graduating, he served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era
and then retired from Crop Fertility Specialist, Bourbon, IN.
Troy made many friends throughout the years that shared his love of
fishing, golfing and playing cards. In 2015, Troy was able to reach
his goal of visiting all 50 states.
Private graveside services
will be held at Spring Hill Cemetery, Fort Recovery at a later date.
Rev. Dennis Kelley will officiate.
