 Mrs. Mary Daugherty, 84. 522 N. Mill St., died at 5:30 p.m. Saturday in Gibbons Hospital, where she had been admitted eight hours earlier.

 

Mrs. Daugherty was born December 17, 1877 in Liberty Township, the daughter of the late Nicholas and Catherine Brechieser Peters.

 

She was married August 17, 1896 to Elias Shepard Daugherty and he died December 9, 1948.

 

She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Margaret Gray, Celina with whom she made her home; Mrs. Barbara Huton. Celina; Mrs. Flowna Schoen, Coldwater; Mrs. Bertha Beougher, R. 3, Rockford: Mrs. Opal Cline, Chicago; Mrs. Anna Carroll and Mrs. Martha Lower, both of Kendallville, Ind., three sons, Wesley and William Daugherty, both of Chicago; and Harry, Medrin, Idaho. There are also 52 grandchildren and 73 great-grandchildren.

 

Mrs. Daugherty was a member of the Church of the Immaculate Conception, where rites will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.  The Rev. Marcellus Fortman will be celebrant of a Requiem High Mass and burial will follow in the church cemetery.
