Brehm
John Brehm, Jr., 78 R. 1, Celina, died suddenly
Friday just before noon at his home on Frahm Pike. He had suffered
from a heart condition for some time, but death was unexpected.
He and his widow had celebrated their golden
wedding anniversary just two weeks ago, on December 9.
Mr. Brehm was a retired farmer, a former Mercer
County deputy sheriff and clerk of Liberty Township.
He was born in Mercer County and his parents
were the late John Peter and Sophia Deiner Brehm. On December 12, 1912
he was married to Eda Henrietta Bollenbacher, who survives together
with three daughters, Mrs. Linus (Kathryn) Klosterman, R. 3, Celina;
Mrs. Dwight (Minnie F.) Laffin, R. 1, Celina; and Mrs. Ralph (Ruth)
Ritchie, R. 2, Celina; and two sons, Floyd of R. 3 and Alvin of R. 1,
Celina.
There are 15 grandchildren;, three great -
grandchildren and one brother, Lewis Brehm of R. 1, Rockford.
Two brothers, Jacob and Bill Brehm, a sister,
Mrs. Theo. (Minnie) Bollenbacher, and two grandchildren preceded him
in death.
Yager Funeral Home in Berne, Ind., is preparing
the body for burial and it will be returned to the family home where
friends may call after 11 a.m. Sunday.
Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in
United Church of Christ at Chattanooga, with the Rev. Larry K. May in
charge. Burial will follow in the church
cemetery.
