Isaac D. Booher, 86, Died at S. J. Fogle Home Sun.
Paralysis Cause
Funeral services for Isaac D. Booher, 86, were held at 1 o’clock at the S. J. Fogle home and at 1:20 o’clock from the Mt. Carmel church in Jefferson township this afternoon. The aged Mr. Booher, who spent the greater portion of his life in the community southeast of Berne, died on Sunday evening at 6:30 o’clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. S. J. Fogle, where he has resided during the past eleven years.
Death was caused by paralysis and old age. Mr. Booher had been blessed with good health throughout life. Last autumn he was still unusually active for a person of his age and he was still able to read without the aid of spectacles. During the latter part of December, however, he contracted illness and never recovered. He was much improved recently, however, and was able to be out of bed. Two weeks ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis, which resulted in his death.
The deceased was born on October 23, 1841, in Montgomery county, Ohio, near Dayton, bringing his age to 80 years, 4 month and 18 days. He was a son of Daniel and Anna Clark Booher. In 1866 he was united in marriage with Mary Kathryn Heim, who died sixteen years ago last December. Fifty-three years ago he came to this county and entered the pioneer life of Jefferson township in the neighborhood of the Booher school.
Mr. Booher is survived by a son, Dan Booher, of Dayton, Ohio, and
four daughters in Jefferson township. They are Mrs. John Fetters, Mrs.
Dan Rumple, Mrs. S. J. Fogle and Mrs. Jonathan Rumple. Anna died in
infancy and William, at the age of 47, who was a twin brother of Mrs.
Jonathan Rumple, died nine years ago. Twenty-three grandchildren and
twenty-four great grandchildren survive.
