 Christian Carl Becher, 71, retired farmer who had resided with his daughter, Mrs. Romilda Linton at Rockford for the last several years, died Friday evening in Memorial hospital in St. Marys.

 

He had been ill about four months.

 

Born near Chattanooga, he had spent the greater part of his life in Mercer County. He retired five years ago, after farming several years near St. Marys.

 

The body has been taken to Sittler Memorial Home in St. Marys, where relatives and friends may call after 7 p.m. Sunday.

 

The rites will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 in Trinity Lutheran Church at Moulton. The body will be taken to the church at noon to lie in state.

 

Surviving with Mrs. Linton and another daughter, Mrs. Anna Springer of Ft. Wayne are five brothers, Fred Becher of Chattanooga; Roma, Albert, Ernest and Walter Becher all of Ft. Wayne.
