H. C. Baker Dies Suddenly Late Tuesday

 

Henry Christian Baker, 78, well known and highly respected farmer of the Chattanooga vicinity, died suddenly last evening at 6:30  o'clock, in his garden, He had I gone out to do some hoeing and was found a shorl time later. 

 

Death was attributed to a heart seizure.

 

He was born October 27, 1877, the son of the late Jacob and Caroline Bollenbacher Baker.

 

On Christmas Day in 1952, Mr. and Mrs. Baker ha-i celebrated their golden wedding anniversary.

 

The deceased was a life member of the St. Paul Evangelical and Reformed Church near Chattanooga.

 

Friends may call at Vales Funeral home after 6 P.M. today until noon Thursday and from 2 p.m. Thursday at the Baker residence.

 

Surviving with the wife, Margaret Koch Baker, are three daughters, Mrs. Hugo (Clista) Fahncke of   Celina:   Mrs.   Kenneth (Gertrude) Hoblet of R. R. Rockford and Mrs. Carl (Arlene) Caywood of R. R. 2, St. Marys.

 

There   are  nine grandchildren, two  great grandchildren, three brothers, Lewis Baker of R. R., Rockford: Jacob Baker of Chattanooga and T. A. Baker of Celina: and four sisters. Mrs. Mary Stuckey of R. R. 1, Rockford; Mrs. Albert Gcrmann  of Celina:   Mrs Fredona Gcrmann of Convoy and Mrs. M. A. Linn of R. R. 1, Celina.

 

Funeral rites will be conducted Friday at 2:30 p.m. in St. Paul’s Evangelical and Reformed Church by the pastor, Rev. John Perl.

 

Interment will be made in the mausoleum at the Chattanooga Cemetery,
